Cannabis

Avoid using cannabis during pregnancy because it reaches the baby via the umbilical cord. Women who use cannabis during pregnancy could have an increased risk of having a baby born too early or having low birth weight. Various long-term consequences such as attention deficiency disorders, hyperactivity and behavioural disorders have been observed in children aged 10 to 16 whose mothers used cannabis regularly during pregnancy. The data on these risks is ambiguous and various studies have shown contradictory results.
