Paracetamol
In recent years, studies have repeatedly been published that discussed a connection between taking paracetamol during pregnancy and the subsequent occurrence of asthma, undescended testicles, mental developmental problems and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children. Many of these studies were used by the press as the latest evidence that paracetamol can negatively influence foetal development. However, the scientific studies had considerable methodological weaknesses and the results were generally too contradictory to actually prove these risks. Paracetamol remains the gold standard for the treatment of fever and pain during pregnancy. Fever and the underlying infection can have serious consequences during pregnancy. It is therefore important for your health and that of your baby to treat it adequately.
